To the Glory of God and to the sacred memory of all those whose names are inscribed hereon, this memorial is erected by subscription, from the parishioners of Wyke Regis in remembrance of those who answered to the call of their King and Country and gave their lives in the Great War. 1914 - 1919

To the Glory of God and to the dear memory of Robert William Talbot Cox BA. scholar of New College Oxford. 2nd Lt. of the 6th Battn. of the Dorsetshire Regt. eldest and last surviving son of George Talbot Cox, of West Norwood, Surrey, and of Mary Elizabeth, his wife and grandson of Robert Cox. formerly of Rodwell, in this parish. Killed near St.Eloi on the morning of the 15th Feb. 1916, in the Great European War, whilst in the act of rescuing a wounded soldier of the Lincolnshire Regt. Aged 25 years. His body rests in a soldiers grave near the village of Voormezeele in Western Flanders.

In loving memory of Arnold Ashton Justice Warner Second Lieut. 1st Battn. Grenadier Guards, Born August 7th 1893. Killed in action at St. Leger, France. 24th August 1918 and of Clive Wynyard Warner Second Lieut. 3rd Skinners Horse, Indian Army. Born November 21st 1898. Died of pneumonia at Quetta, India. October 14th 1918.

In loving memory of the Brother of the above, Captain Charles Thornton Warner, OBE, Brigade Major 10th Indian Infantry Brigade Waziristan Force Died on Active Service at Kotkai 30th Sept. 1920 Aged 31. He served in Mesopotamia in 1915, took part in the siege of Kut and was taken Prisoner of War in Asiatic Turkey for 3 years. "Dulce et decorm est pro patria mori."

To the Honour and Glory of God In loving and proud memory of

Harold Keith de Warenne Harvey eldest son of Harold and Jane Harvey the Willows, Wyke Regis, formerly of Llanstinan, Pembrokeshire. Grandson of George Harries Esq.J.P., of Trevaccoon in the County of Pembrokeshire, Corpl. in the 28th Batt. Machine Gun Section, Australian Imperial Force, who won his D.C.M. at Gallipoli and was killed in Action at Armentieres on Tuesday April 25th 1916. Buried at Ration Farm Cemetery, Armentieres. Aged 21.

Ralph de Warenne Harvey their youngest son, 2nd Lieut. 3rd Dorset Regiment attached 1st Kings Royal Rifles, who died at Rouen on Wednesday, June 7th 1916 of his wounds received in Action on May 23rd on Vimy Heights. Buried at St. Sever Cemetery, Rouen. Aged 18. Beloved greatly by all who knew him. + + +

To the Glory of God and in loving memory of John Edward Bull 2nd son of John and Louisa Bull of this Parish 2nd Lieut. 3rd Dorset Regt. attd. 3rd Royal Fusiliers Born March 4th 1894 killed in the Hohenzollern Redoubt at the battle of Loos September 28th 1915 "He that loseth his life for My sake shall find it." R.I.P.
